چکیده

The Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov (BFKL) evolution equation is known to be " unstable " with respect to fluctuations in gluon virtuality, transverse momentum and energy requiring to go beyond the leading order BFKL. Still, these instabil-ities point to fruitful improvements of our deep understanding of QCD. Recent applications to next-leading order and to saturation problems are outlined.

The Bfkl Equation at Next-to-leading Level and beyond *

On the basis of a renormalization group analysis of the kernel and of the solutions of the BFKL equation with subleading corrections, we propose and calculate a novel expansion of a properly defined effective eigenvalue function. We argue that in this formulation the collinear properties of the kernel are taken into account to all orders, and that the ensuing next-to-leading truncation provides...

The BFKL and GLDAP regimes for the perturbative QCD pomeron

The S-matrix of diffractive scattering is diagonalized in terms of the colour dipole-dipole cross section. Recently, we have shown that the dipole cross section satisfies the generalized BFKL equation. In this paper we discuss the spectrum and solutions of our generalized BFKL equation with allowance for the finite gluon correlation radius Rc. The latter is introduced in the gauge invariant man...

BFKL and CCFM evolutions with saturation boundary

We perform numerical studies of the BFKL and CCFM equations for the unintegrated gluon distribution supplemented with an absorptive boundary which mimics saturation. For the BFKL equation, this procedure yields the same results for the saturation momentum and the gluon distribution above saturation as the non–linear BK equation, for both fixed and running coupling, and for all the considered en...

BFKL and CCFM final states

There are two basic approaches to the study of final states at small-x. The BFKL equation [ 1] is derived in the ‘Multi-Regge’ limit, i.e. assuming large rapidity intervals between successive emissions. This guarantees the leading logarithms (αs lnx) n (LL) for sufficiently inclusive quantities (such as the total cross section, forward-jet rates) but not necessarily for more exclusive final pro...

The Collision Energy Dependence of Dijet Cross Sections as a Probe of BFKL Physics

The dependence of the subprocess cross section for dijet production at fixed transverse momentum on the (large) rapidity separation ∆y of the dijets can be used to test for ‘BFKL physics’, i.e. the presence of higher–order (αs log∆y) n contributions. Unfortunately in practice these subtle effects are masked by the additional, stronger dependence arising from the parton distributions. We propose...
